BAPTISMS / WEDDINGS / FUNERALS

Baptism

Baptism is an outward sign publicly marking the start of a lifelong journey as a Christian, and membership of the Church community. Our baptisms usually take place in our main 10.30am service.

To find out more about baptism please see the Church of England's website on Baptism.

Enquiries about baptisms can be made at the church office or through a member of the clergy team.

Confirmation

At Confirmation, those baptised as infants confirm for themselves the promises made on their behalf by their parents and godparents at baptism. Confirmation services with the Bishop of Willesden are held at St John’s every two years and are preceded by a course which explores more about the Christian faith.

To find out more about Confirmation, please see the Church of England's website on Confirmation.

Enquiries about Confirmation can be made at the church office or through a member of the clergy team.

Weddings and Marriage Blessings

If you live in the parish and would like to explore the possibility of a Christian wedding at St John’s then please contact the church office or speak to a member of the clergy.

If you have had a civil marriage in the UK or abroad you may be able to have a marriage blessing at St John’s. To find out more about planning your wedding/marriage blessing, please see the Church of England's website on weddings.

Funerals

If you live in the parish and would like to hold a Christian funeral for a family member or friend who has died, then please contact a member of the clergy team. To find out more about church funerals, please see the Church of England's website on funerals.

All Saints Day: a chance to remember every year

Every year on the first Sunday in November we have a special service to remember friends, neighbours and family members who have died. If you would like the names of your loved ones to be read out, you can do so in person during the church service or send us their details and requests for prayer. Please send this information to the vicar Anna Poulson annapoulson@btinternet.com.
